ABOUT CARL

Carl lives between Lesotho and South Africa. He has been freelancing as a director for 6 years, directing various projects from running videos to washing powder commercials. 

Carl grew up in Lesotho. He completed his primary and secondary education at the international school in Lesotho, where he was exposed to many diverse cultures. Having travelled extensively through Europe, Asia and Africa he has developed a global outlook, with a humble understanding and knowledge of different cultures.

Carl graduated from AFDA in 2009 with awards for best director and writer. He has gone on to direct short films, music videos and commercials. His works have been on South Africa Television as well as Lesotho TV. 

Working under constrained budgets and crew Carl has learnt to be innovative, decisive and think on the spot as a director. Regardless of limitations Carl knows how to make do with what he has and achieves a high production value with his work.

With a keen Interested in social and developmental issues Carl completed a degree in Development studies from UNISA. He aims to link his knowledge in filmaking with his interest in development.
